On March 9th, Carlos Alonso Laita, CEO of Atmosphere & Smart Division of Wireless DNA, and José Mañas, CEO of the company, were received by Mr. Miguel Ángel López González, president of the Spanish Meteorology Agency (AEMET), and Ana Casals Carro, Head of the Coordination Department of Territorial Delegations, at its headquarters in Madrid.

The purpose of the meeting was to explain the R&D projects that Wireless DNA has in progress in the field of meteorology through its technology company Meteoclim, as well as to analyze potential public-private partnerships between AEMET and the company. Nowadays, there are different private companies and leading international research centers that are carrying out projects in meteorology and climate change, and it is essencial to seek mechanisms to leverage the result of all that know-how within our borders.

Mr. López González congratulated the work carried out by Wireless DNA through its Atmosphere division, where Meteoclim is integrated, and put on the table AEMET's interest and determination in creating information exchange systems so that the Spanish Meteorology Agency, despite not being an Public Research Organization, can benefit or contribute in some way to these R&D projects, such as those carried out by WDNA.

In fact, the Wireless DNA group has several ongoing R&D projects financed by the central government through the CDTI (Centre for Industrial Technological Development), the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (through Torres Quevedo grants) and the Government of the Balearic Islands. The group's R&D investment in the period 2018-2020 is close to 2M euros.

At WDNA we believe that public-private synergies in Research and Development are essential.
